Puget Sound has a High Wind Watch in place for Saturday morning into the evening. Winds at 40 mph gusting to 60 mph. A "Watch" means the high wind "Might" occur and that folks should get ready for it. It all depends on where the center of the low crosses Vancouver Island. If it crosses the north end then we get a light breeze. If it crosses the South and then, because of the mountains on both sides of the sound, we get the big blow.

The weather service is cautioning us that, due to the saturated soil from recent rains, trees will topple easily.

So batten down the hatches folks. "Looks like a Nor'Easter... Blowin' out of the Sou'West."

We are now under a High Wind Warning. That means high wind "will" happen. The warning takes effect between 8 AM and 4 PM tomorrow [Saturday]. Winds at 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph. Trees will fall. Shingles will fly. Dogs and Cats will Huddle together. Pure anarchy.

I took the time tonight to tie down the tarp on our patio furniture. Not that it matters much, but I'd rather it not whip around and brake things.

Right now Bremerton has 10 mph, though I don't think we have any here in Port Orchard yet.
