This week I pulled out Age of Mythology. Hey, I successfully didn't play it, so I deserved to play it now that it's March. Big mistake. I wasted a lot of time and , if not for today, would not have met a lot of my goals.

Speaking of which, I entered the art room today. After a bit of a search for my art supplies I settled in and started doodling. Doodling is a start, right? I decided to dig through my art reference.

While leaning back to reach for a book on a bottom shelf, my chair broke. DAMN! I spent about $270 on that chair 10 years ago. Never mind that the $70 dollar computer chairs we bought from Office Depot are more comfortable. I hauled the broken chair down to the garage and grabbed a computer chair.

Then I couldn't find my mechanical pencil. DAMN! After wasting about a half hour looking for it I decided I needed a break and I went to Office Depot. I planned to pick up a couple of cheap mechanical pencils and drool over art and computer supplies.

As I walked into the store I noticed a sale. Remember those comfy $70 computer chairs? On sale for $40! SCORE!! There is a reason for everything that happens. I swear!

Here is that first March check in:

Spend time in the art room. Enter at least once a week.
Success. [see above]

Pull out sketchbook and actually sketch. Start Tomorrow.
Success! It's a start.

Acrylics would be fun. Consider taking them out and using them. Keep priorities on other art resolutions.
Okay, it would be fun. Not yet though.

Continue progress on ideas for the Business. Complete the newsletter and mail in March.
Success. Getting more ideas for the Newsletter as I am learning the program. I could use more time at the computer though. Regular work tasks are starting to take command.

Come up with more ideas to help work. Consider how you can improve customer service.
Success! Researched a previous shipment for a customer and found evidence that agreed with her claim. She's happy and will order more.

Continue to lose weight. Goal of 160 by Norwescon, April 17.
Marginal success. 178. Goal of 160 by Norwescon may fall.

Continue Workout schedule. Add off day treadmill work.
Success! Actually I've found that if I do a work out or a treadmill session first thing on these weekend days, I don't get sluggish and sit about. Though I did crash hard on the couch last night and didn't hear Juli come home.

Continue morning pages at least three times a week.
Success. Yeah yeah it's always a success. ;-)

Find new sources for thinking of others and for focusing on my own emotional outlook. For now make it a proactive exercise. Work on making it a habit.
Damn, this has been a hard success. One of the associates who lost a family member last month lost another one, this time her father in law. Still, it has been a success. Where at another time this may have bogged me down and kept me from even thinking about pursuing goals, this time I've kept on track.

Check in weekly.
Does this count? I know it's the 9th...

So, what did I sketch?

"He's just zis guy, you know?"

Okay, it's been a while. I need to spend more time and focus. However the very fact that I entered the art room is promising.
