I wake up with music in my head. It's sometimes something I've been listening to lately. At other times it come out of the blue. I've speculated that maybe I have a filling that's picking up radio and it hasn't told me. when I write the morning pages they usually start with the name of the tune. This is a list of what February brought me. Often it's just a phrase.

Feb 3 -- The second stanza of "Good Vibrations"
Feb 5 -- "You are the Wind Beneath my Wings" I have no idea where that came from.
Feb 7 -- "Why must the Stars Keep on Shining"
Feb 10 -- "I've spent all my Money Trying to Please You and I Want it Back"
Feb 12 -- "Hang Real Loose Like a Long Neck Goose"
Feb 14 -- nothing
Feb 17 -- "Indian Wedding" by Roy Orbison
Feb 19 -- "Pretty Woman"
Feb 21 -- "You and I Travel Forth to a Distant Drum" I'm betting I even got the lyrics wrong.
Feb 24 -- "Don't you -- Forget about me"

A very curious collection. I only own about half of that, and some of it I wouldn't be caught singing in my sleep. But there it is.

Doesn't everyone usually have music running through their heads? I know I do. In college, when asked if I had to choose between being blind and deaf, I chose blindness. Why? The tunes running around in my brain would drive me crazy if there weren't other sound distractions in my life. Most of it is stuff I own (celtic, eastern european, medieval, some pop), but that's mostly because I don't listen to the radio that much. I do sometimes get other stuff in my head (red wine and clover, over and over... Do you like pina-colada? taking walks in the rain...)

Isn't it a crazy world?
