Criminal Minds always has a quote at the beginning and end of their episodes. These quotes usually sets a dark and somber mood to the show, but they are getting from less then dark and somber sources. For example, one episode started with

"Light thinks it travels faster than anything, but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first and is waiting for it." -- Terry Pratchett

This last one surprised me as well.

"A lion's work hours are only when he's hungry; once he's satisfied, the predator and prey live peacefully together."
