Eddie Update : Yeay!
Dec. 11th, 2002 08:01 pmEddie is home. He's not 100% yet, but he's alert and eating. I went in and visited him tonight. He was more vocal then he's been.
While I was there a tech came to remove a mussel from a large black lab below Eddies cage. The lab almost overpowered her getting out. I happened to be right there so I gave a hand. It still took both of us a lot of OOmph to get him back in his cage.
Poor thing has had a good stiff drink of radiator fluid. I heard the vet talking to the owners. If he pulls through this, great, but it's very likely he has shortened his life. ::sigh::
Back to Eddie. I spoke with Dr. Christiansen, whom I've never met before. He looked over Eddie's chart and said there was no reason to keep him. They canceled the ultrasound. That means we won't know for sure what the problem was, but we won't need to if he's on the mend. He's on pill antibiotics now, and that can be administered by me [heh? 8-| ]. they demonstrated their technique... and found that Eddie has indeed recovered quite a bit. It took five tries, lot's of growling and spitting, and the kitty burrito blanket. He still gave them trouble.
So he's home. He's slow. He gets a new diet. So does Saavik. Such is the fate of the universal cat dish.
Eddie's Home! Eddie's Home!
Saavik: "Damn it!"

Good to know he's at home and still on the mend.

Date: 2002-12-11 11:05 pm (UTC)Yay!
I just realized that the reason I never see posts from CD isn't because he's a shy recluse, but because he's not on my friends list yet. But I've fixed that. ^_^

Surely you Jest! "Stop calling me Shirley."

You say that in jest? Hee! The techs were gauging to some extent how he was feeling by how loudly he would growl at them when they took him out for tests or cage cleaning.
