Rules and Regulations
Nov. 13th, 2002 10:54 pmWell, we had our meeting with a legal adviser we've worked with before. It's no big, really. He's helped us in the past to move from a cottage industry to a small business, things like working up a hand book and some procedure.
The cloak and dagger stuff was just a ridiculous expanding of simple worries by one of our members.
Our problem was that when Laurie left in 1996 the whole bailiwick landed in my lap. I didn't have enough clues as to how to deal with any of it. I've been stumbling through for the past eight years, unaware that I've been missing a few steps in the whole process of "Associate Relations". so now we've got the handbook... 'our' handbook that was written in 1995, explained to us by the guy who wrote it. and we have to be a little more professional and, yes, we have to preside over hearsay and whatnot. It comes with the job.
We have to do all this because if we don't it effects production and we all "go down the hole."
Other then that, I've got a few more paragraphs written. I think this time around the NaNoWriMo is going to merely be a reason to tap on the keys. There's no way I'm going to get 50,000 words written, but it is getting me to write again. Now, if another story steps up and wants to have stuff written then I'm not going to be trapped because I'm obligated by NaNoWriMo. I'll drop the novel and go straight to the story. That's just how it is.
Now I'm kicking back in the new purple room and typing away, listening to music as I once did in Winslow back in the 80's. The disks keep spinning. Juli says I'll never play all of the music I have. I'm out to prove her wrong, that I don't have enough music.
