Part Way Home

We are in Salem. We drove through the California Valley in winds strong enough to make conversation in the car next to impossible and steering through it for three hours a bit of a work out [and boy are my arms tired]. On the way down it was 80 degrees. On the way back it was in the low 50s. Then up into the Siskiyou for some ice and snow. ...okay, not much, but we were able to say "Look! Snow!"
We are about an hour south of Portland. Shortbread wants to stop at a stitchery store she has had luck with online. Then a short-ish visit to Powels.
It interesting how a change in geography and climate can equate to a longer stretch of time. This morning in Pacifica seems like last week.
