We had a good anniversary today. I took off from work early and got Juli's card prepared. On my way home I realized there was one more gift I could buy in Silverdale. While traveling Silverdale Way [old highway 3] I passed the Silverdale post office and remembered a very important task. I usually get Juli's cards roundstamped by the post office on the 26th of whatever month it happens to be. Well the clerk looked at me rather strangely. He was one of these "I've been at this job too long," types. So he stamped it and waved for the next person in line.

The missing gift was "Buffy: Once More With Feeling".

Juli and I went to dinner at Anthony's down in Gig Harbor. There's a lot of places down in Gig Harbor that I wasn't aware of. Juli had Fillet Minion and I had Alder Plank Halibut. While we were eating I mentioned how places like this, that serve Northwest Cuisine, always put me in mind of Artist Point. Artist Point was a restaurant at Northwest Lodge in Walt Disney World. We ate there once on our honeymoon. Juli jumped on that saying she was just thinking about Artist point too. I think Artist Point stood out for me because it wasn't in the Northwest. It's where I discovered that we here in the NW actually do have a cuisine we can call our own. It was a taste of home away from home.

So after we came home we exchanged gifts. As you know I got her the Harbor Lights

HA! We really are married!

She bought it from the same store and the same clerk. The clerk obviously put on a good show. she was very enthusiastic about showing Juli all sorts of lighthouses, but didn't try to discourage Juli from buying New Dungeoness. Juli had all ready gone to great lengths telling her about how we hiked out to it the Labor Day Weekend before our wedding and how it was special. It was Juli's last weekend off before the wedding.

So tomorrow we're both going in together with the extra New Dungeoness in hand and congratulate the clerk on her great performance. Will trade the lighthouse for another.

Juli has started her vacation. I'll be taking the day off tomorrow. We plan to go Lighthouse chasing.

Eddie is getting better all the time. I'm not forcing anything down his throat. Rather I'm crushing the antibiotics into his food and the pain killer as well. We discovered tonight that when he gets a good dose of pain killer he gets that wide pupil look and sort of focuses on nothing.

He gets one more dose of that then he's done. He's happier, and I know he doesn't know what the story is with his inability to chomp on things. I know, and it's sad. But I'll get over it.
