I slept in this morning. I guess I needed the extra 45 minutes. It meant that I got to work on time rather then a half hour early. It also meant that I didn't have time to write my morning pages, those pages I committed myself to writing in my September resolutions.

Remaining undaunted "There is always a way!" I found time near my morning break to scrawl some pages out. One of the items that came up was a desire on my part to just sit in the sun a zone out. I've had an urge on occasion to just stop on my way to the mailbox, sit on a the concrete wall, and just vegetate.

I ran a number of possible reasons why up the metaphorical flag pole and dismissed them one by one.
Depression? No, I'm not even subconsciously depressed.
Anxiety? Business isn't good, but no, hope and creative energy seem to be boundless.
Nervousness? Yes, the current business situation certainly makes me nervous, but not enough to cause this odd impulse.

I tried some positive notions. What would I benefit if I did pause by the side of the road, or stop in the middle of the day, and just sit? I would clear my head for one. Obviously I've got a lot of noise going on up there, like anxiety and nervous concern. Clearing my head would be a good thing. I think a name for that is 'meditation'. Interesting.

So then the scrawling on the page took a religious turn. More of a philosophical turn. I tried to break down my 'religious' beliefs into what I hold to. I was brought up in the Christian Science church, but i am not now a Christian Scientist. Still, there are some ideas that I took with me. "God is Good, Principle, Mind, Soul, Spirit, Life, Truth and Love." I ordained myself through the internet and the Universal Life Church. The basic tenant there is "Do what is Good" and it leaves you to decide what that is.

I just contemplated that for a bit. What should I do for my flock of one? I concluded
Relax
Care
Trust
See Good
Love
Be at Peace

I guess good things can come out of morning pages.
