Sometimes it's Easy
Aug. 31st, 2002 05:28 pmToday was supposed to be cloudy and dreary. It didn't work out that way. Juli had the mega morning shift, which means she has to be out the door at 6:15. I laid in bed reading until about 7, and then rolled over and slept until 8:30. Got up and showered, paid bills and updated our accounts in the computer, surfed the web.
At about 1:45 I decided to catch a boat and drive to Burion to get my comics. that's something I usually wait to do until a Tai Pan event. Today, though, it just seemed like it would be easy. I was the first one on the boat. I stayed in the car and read. I had a nice view right on the bow [okay, it was the stern until we left Vashon]. By 3:00 I got to Burion and picked up my comics. I had to catch a couple that they forgot were supposed to be on my pull list.
As I stepped out the door at 3:15 I thought why not drive around?
As I passed Federal Way and CF Central I briefly flirted with the idea of stopping by the BBQ, but Juli was getting off work shortly and she hasn't been feeling well. It's a summer cold thing. As I passed by Tacoma TJ Maxx I briefly flirted with the idea of stopping by and seeing Juli, but by the clock I figured she was possibly just getting in her car.
I stopped for gas, and by 4:00 I got home. Juli arrived at 4:20, very much the worse for wear.
So the trip was simply 2 hours, more of a quick jaunt then a trip. It may have been shorter if I had driven through Tacoma instead of taking the boat. It certainly would have been cheaper. Still, the ride was worth it.
Sometimes it's easy.
