With this entry I will have fulfilled the one resolution I made in January. That was to make at least one entry per day throughout the year. Yes, there were a few cheats, Norwescon and the like. There were a few real cheats where I actually forgot. And there were a few cast off entries that were just quick notes. But I still have one entry per day in my 2004 calendar.
There will be some New Years Resolutions for 2005. It's time to bring back the goals list and weekly check in for one. That's the only resolution I've set down in stone at this point. I may get a note pad and make some notes, then place them down in clear form here.
I managed to prepay part of the credit card so as to have a small credit balance on it today. It seems I'm not the only one that does that. The bank teller in the drive through commented that all of the payments that get dropped off today get processed today so that they're recorded before the end of the year. Interesting. Could be a tax thing. We also received a utility bill in today's mail that I zipped off into the return mail. So all of that is done.
As for dirt... We still have a lot of that around. Yesterday I replaced all of the light bulbs in the master bathroom. We've got a bank of 8 of those clear 40 watt bulbs. Seven of those bulbs have been in place for 5 years. While they still work the dust and dirt had burnt onto the top side of them. It cast a yellowish light into the room. Now with the new lights the room is bright and clean looking. Okay, I did clean out the room thoroughly, clear back to the corners. I also cleared out the stacks of worthless crap on my side of the bedroom.
I have to tell you, it's rather uplifting and inspiring to get up in the morning to a clean space. So I may be taking dirt into the New Year, but I'm also taking in a new goal for "clean and orderly". Hey, I think I found another resolution.
Now some fireworks are popping away. Poor Saavik is peering out from dark corners. She's got Biiiiiiig upright ears right now. Eddie doesn't even look concerned yet. Juli and I are going to snack for dinner and kick back. I'll probably clear off my office desk. But that's all we have planned. She goes to work tomorrow early.
