I thought I was on vacation???

dolphins_logI went to work today, intending only to do payroll. That way no one gets mad by me coming into the office a week later and then handing out paychecks. I was only going to be in for about an hour and then start my vacation.
...I left the studio 6 hours later. NOW I get to start the vacation.
Juli and I certainly have some ambitious plans for this week. Today we've chosen some paint chips. Tomorrow we head out for Ikea and buy up some future furniture for the family room. Wednesday we paint the family room. ...two colors. Thursday we build what furniture we are able to bring home with us.
Then Friday we are heading down to Portland and Powell's Book Store. From there we will head out to Cannon Beach with our bootee of rich reading material and spend three days and two nights at the ocean. That will be our anniversary excursion.
The reservation conversation was interesting. The reservationist's name was Judy. She sounds like a traditional librarian.
Me: "I'd like to make a reservation for 2 days starting Friday."
Judy: "Where will you be coming from?"
Me: "Port Orchard, Wa. We'll be going to Portland first and stopping at Powell's Books."
Judy: [reading what she's writing] "Arriving late on Friday. mm hm."
Someone who knows, obviously.
