Frances has dropped to a category 2 hurricane with winds sustained at 105 mph. She is no longer a major hurricane, however she still covers a large area. The problem now is that she is advancing very slowly, about 4 mph. That means she will be lingering over Florida with torrential rain and hurricane force winds. They are predicting rains in the "feet" rather than inches. She's not due to hit the Gulf coast until sometime Sunday night.
