Day in Port Townsend
Jun. 5th, 2007 02:45 pmOur trip to Post Townsend last Thursday was partially to give Juli some experience with her camera she got last christmas. She is quite happy!
My camera still does fine, though I would love to get one with farther zoom capabilities.
Here's a photo tour.
When we arrive we were met with a good amount of fog. It made for some great pictures of the Point Wilson Lighthouse. Point Wilson suffered some damage from the winter storms. There is a window busted out of the lighthouse itself. The picture in the center shows the fog signal has been washed out of kilter. The parks department constructed a solid rock bulkhead around the lighthouse over the winter. Hopefully that will be enough. The picture on the right shows some nice wave action, so my camera is pretty efficient for what it is.
Juli wanted a picture of this B&B on the left. She has a cross stitch pattern of it in her files. This B&B is for sale as a home for $1,700,000 or a furnished business for $1,900,000. If you have a little cash laying around there ya go. Sadly it's in need of a little repair. THe picture on the right is of the Jefferson County court house. It was built in 1890. It's odd seeing this structure fitted with automatic doors, but they made the doors look like they belonged at least. [maybe if they had some special effect steam every time the door opened...]
We stopped at the Rhododendron Preserve for some floral shots. THe last time we were here was back in 1996 before we were engaged. Juli took some shots with her Minolta 35mm back then. She likes the digital camera much better now.
