An Interesting Observation of my Psyche
Dec. 2nd, 2006 04:40 pmThis feeling has happened to me before, but usually later in the Winter.
In december it's usually dark and cold. We may have snow or it could just rain incessantly. Christmas is in full swing. Neighborhood lights are lit and cheery. Christmas carols are everywhere on the radio. Shoppers clog the malls and centers. No Scrooge, I. I enjoy all the chaos and bustle. It's festive.
There comes a moment just before or just after Christmas, where the sun pops out and shines on the wet, occasionally icy, outdoors. A regular top 40 song comes on the radio. In that moment I feel spring on the way. It's not a yearning, it's an actual feel of spring.
This happened yesterday, about a month early. Perhaps it's because our early snow.
