Domain Pain
Apr. 11th, 2002 03:28 pmOur server for our website has changed hans twice in the past year. This time they didn't tell us that we needed to contact our Domain name registrar and have them change their pointers. So now our website is down again and has been for the past week.
The problem I'm having now is that every time customer support says they will send me the required forms and information to change our isp address, they don't. Each time I request it they say it will take another 24 to 48 hours.
It's time to bail. I've contacted my local internet provider and they say they can set us up for the same price as we're paying now. Advantage: they wont sell anytime soon, and if they do they are still local and I can go directly to their office on my way home to fix things.
The problem now is Network Solutions/Verisign, another company that has changed hands multiple times, has our domain name in there hands. I have to make them give it up.
