The first week of April
Apr. 6th, 2003 07:48 pmI spent the weekends free time being domestic. What with Juli being ill [she's not anymore] and my putting in extra time at the shop, the house got a little worn around the edges. Yesterday I cleaned up a lot of it and vacuumed. That was after getting back from the movie.
This morning I experimented with some ripe bananas and made banana pancakes and maple sausage for Juli. Highly successful. Since we slept in until the late hours that didn't leave much of the afternoon left.
I decided to recycle.
We've been collecting cardboard for far too long and it has been taking up a good portion of the garage. I loaded up the car and drove off to Belfair where the main landfill/recycle for Kitsap is. Or I should say "was". The Landfill is Full. The Transfer station that they had set up is closed on Sunday. Whee.
On the way out I remembered I needed to go to Home Depot in Gig Harbor to pick up some stuff for work. Belfair to Gig Harbor... that's Highway 302, a windy twisty thing that collapsed during our Nesqualey earthquake. Got to Gig Harbor and bought what I needed. On the way North on 16 I came across a sign for Recycle at the Olalla exit. Sure enough, they were open for another 5 minutes. It was nearly 5 o'clock.
That job got done. Things just always work out if you don't get worked up over them. Needless to say the April resolutions got a little neglected.
Enter the Art Room at least Once a week.

Catching up on some neglected paper work. I am, however, committed to having it ot before Norwescon.
Work more aggressively to lose the weight.

Interesting, but with my "Peter Pan" discovery and daylight time underway I feel a rush of Spring Creativity coming on. It's one of those inspiring atmospheres that take me about this time, especially with twilight. Or maybe it's going to Norwescon for 23 years. I love the twilight. The problem is I get easily sidetracked. I allow something to convince me to put things off. This year is the first time I've put lists up and committed to list checks every week. Perhaps this will keep me focused.
I've printed up the list. I'm going to try posting it somewhere where I have to see it every day. That way I have to check it daily instead of weekly.
