Progress and Music in my head.
Apr. 1st, 2003 07:49 pmI got the newsletter out! Yay! It took three hours for the poor printer to print them all, but they're on their way.
These are the tunes that were in my head as I woke on various days up last month. I know because I wrote them down in my morning pages.
"Your the One That I Love" from ...Grease?...
Theme from Rocky
"You were working as a Waitress in a Cocktail Bar." Whatever that song is called.
"It Only Beats for You" by Phil Collins
"In Your Eyes" also by Phil
"Do You Suffer from Long Term Memory Loss?" from DJ Czarcasm's mix
"Fly Like an Eagle" by The Steve Miller Band
Some rap from DJ Czarcasm's mix
"All Fly Away" and I don't even remember what this was or the tune.
"I Hear You Call My Name" no idea
"Never Had to Knock On Wood" Don't know who does it, but I love this song.
"Mediate" by INXS
"Wake Me Up" from the Daredevil soundtrack [which I don't have].
That's the list. It only goes to prove that you should never trust a waking mind.

>"You were working as a Waitress in a Cocktail Bar." Whatever that song is called.
"Don't You Want Me" Human League
>"Never Had to Knock On Wood" Don't know who does it, but I love this song.
Ska song from a few years back? That would be "The Impression that I Get" by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
>"In Your Eyes" also by Phil
As in "..All my instincts, they return.." that was the *cough cough* better Genesis vocalist Peter Gabriel (dodges items thrown by Phil phans)
>I Hear You Call My Name" no idea
I dunno either. I remember there was a song by 80's ballad/metal band Night Ranger with that title. Googling those words just gets me "Like A Prayer"
> "All Fly Away"
Hmm... "Hero" by Chad Kroeger from the Spiderman Soundtrack? Jefferson Starship perhaps?
OK, I'm goin' to sleep now. :)

Date: 2003-04-01 11:01 pm (UTC)Ah well... Like I said, never trust a waking mind. The truth to tell I'm always way behind in the music world. Ask the gang. Back in 1988 I decided it was time to get some more contemporary music, like Journey and Boston. In 1995 I decided to upgrade again, like The Cars.
I never was into Genesis until I started searching out Phil Collins. All I knew about Phil Collins was that he was this guy who showed up occasionally on some show called Miami Vice. I did not know Peter Gabriel was in the bad Genesis, and his name I knew.
What can I say, I'm working on a back beat while everyone else is going forward. Hey, I dance to Muzak in the grocery stores. Drives Juli nuts.

I think it was a win-win situation. ^_^
