Half Way Through March, 2003
Mar. 16th, 2003 09:29 pmToday was a spectacular day. What made the day so charged was the weather. Buckets of rain in bright blue sky followed by dark angry clouds in the sunshine. the capper was a partial vivid rainbow over Vashon and West Seattle. This was a power day. And I took that power for myself.
Now the problem I'm having is that one of my March resolutions is not writing. It always seems to work this way. If I want to get creative, and I'm having breakthroughs in one area, the other area demands my time. I've finally found time to get into the art room and now stories are flooding into my head. So now I'm spending my time not watching "Children of Dune".
So How am I doing for March now that we're half way through?
Spend time in the art room. Enter at least once a week.
Success! Okay, so I spend time on Sunday just so I can call this one a success. Have a look.
This is a speed sketch of the cover of the latest Request magazine from Suncoast. It took about a half hour from pencil to ink. This was an exercise. I think I can take this to the next step, that's taking time to refine an image to completion. Perhaps even extrapolating something from my imagination, though that might be a big jump. We'll see.
Pull out sketchbook and actually sketch. Start Tomorrow.
Sort of on pause. The above image is actually in my sketchbook, but I've already claimed it as a completion of the above goal. This goal needs it's own completion.
Acrylics would be fun. Consider taking them out and using them. Keep priorities on other art resolutions.
Keeping priorities. Writing might actually shunt this goal aside.
Continue progress on ideas for the Business. Complete the newsletter and mail in March.
Getting much closer to getting a Newsletter put together, though I think Bud and Suzanne may delay the mailing. The Credit Card possessing Application was shipped.
Come up with more ideas to help work. Consider how you can improve customer service.
Get things out the door quickly. Send purchase inquiries from the web site out to our brick and mortar stores. Try to get the customers what they want rather then get irritated at unreasonable requests. The image of the new figurine is almost ready for shipment.
Continue to lose weight. Goal of 160 by Norwescon, April 17.
Okay, the 160 in a month... ain't gonna make it. I'm at 178 so that's 18 pounds in one month. I've taken up another notch on my belt though. [see below]
Continue Workout schedule. Add off day treadmill work.
Success! In fact I've surprised myself. I've been to the gym every day this week. Three of those days were workouts and the rest were 40 minute treadmill sessions. I think this may account for the lost belt notch. I've also found my endurance returning to last years "wall building" levels.
Continue morning pages at least three times a week.
Success. But what can I say? Yes, this item will stay listed, just to make sure I keep it up.
Find new sources for thinking of others and for focusing on my own emotional outlook. For now make it a proactive exercise. Work on making it a habit.
Hmmm I can't claim this one this week. I got a little short with a few people. That's not fair. I think with this energy I'm getting I might be sacrificing patients. Perhaps this goal should be "Learn to communicate and to listen better."
Check in weekly.
Hi there! Is this me!
Things are still looking good.
