I Hereby Resolve...
Jan. 1st, 2003 01:47 pmI've never been one for making New Years resolutions. I figure any time of year is great for resolving, and acting on the resolution,to improve. I remember a small amount of success with my September Resolutions.
I did have some resolutions last year.
Loose Weight [check].
Write three pages a day.
Improve my art skills.
I had success with the first one. I lost the 30 pounds, though I gained 8 back over the holidays. That's still controllable. The other two were not specific enough.
New Years Day is a big deal. It's an artificial "Fresh Start" that the entire world subscribes to. I like the Japanese tradition of "no debt and no dirt" brought into the new year. I managed to make large inroads into that goal. All the bills were paid on the 31st and the house is clean for the most part.
So here are my new NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS for 2003: most to be assessed by the end of the month.
Continue to lose weight. Goal of 160 by Norwescon.
Reschedule two workdays to enable getting to the gym in the Morning rather then at night with the third workout on
Saturday. [Test for the Month of January]
Write three morning pages at least 4 times a week. {January]
Practice sketch a half of a work book. [January]
Complete two pieces of art [January]
Paint two ideas [January]
Come up with three ideas of how to help the family business. [Goal of next ten days]
Find better and more positive ways of dealing with depressed/downdrafting family/business associates. {January]
Keep my own outlook positive rather then neutral. [January]
Post a Journal Entry a Day.
I believe these goals are achievable.
