Summer Day Summary
Jul. 6th, 2002 09:11 pmMost of the day was taken up by running around getting tools and information. That's okay. I've found a place to get good dirt to cover the glacial till we have here. The nursery told me that I don't need to pull up the dead weeds. They're dead. The seeds too. Splitting the 4" garden bricks was too easy. I learned from watching my neighbor slowly tap out the sod with the mattock the other day that I don't need to whale on it. Slow tapping does the trick. I was startled when the brick fell apart into two clean halves.
I checked out the fill dirt pile that I got from my next door neighbor last year. It isn't all that good. I used some of it, but the rest is now spread out on our hill.
So I got some things done. Not as much as I'd like, but I think I'll be ready to finish it up tomorrow now that I know what I need.
