Summer Dreams

dolphins_logMy Summer has started. Odd about the Fourth... Summer doesn't seem to get going until afterwords, and as soon as the fifth hits it seems like Summer is racing to conclusion.
Around about midnight after the Fourth I always perceive this warm silent/loud hum. It's a feeling of conclusion, where few fireworks are going off, the celebration is done, the excitement is over. Usually there are clouds in the sky. The city lights make them glow red. I can see the contours through the absent star shells.
It's the start of Summer, and the beginning of the end of Summer.
Will I pull off a satisfying weekend?
I think so. I've started off right, by getting the bills paid. I'll probably putter about and clean up the kitchen sometime today. I got up at 8 and read some on the deck. Juli has to work this afternoon, but she got up early and has headed to Silverdale. A stitchery shop is closing out the cross stitch section and is having a sale today. She wants to stock up.
After she gets back we may have a bit of breakfast. As soon as she leaves I'll work on the final touches to the garden walls. I've killed off all the vegetation behind the two new walls. Now I'll need to pull it up and fill in the walls with sand and good dirt, both of which I'll have to buy. Before I can do that I'll need to split a couple of bricks to square up the wall ends.
We've made plans for the next wall in the back yard. It's going to be a complimentary arc to the deck we also plan to build/have built. The garden walls should be done by the time the BBQ occurs on the 10th of Aug. The deck may be another story.
I need to connect with the biker's at least once this Summer. I think I'm fit enough, though if I keep racking myself on these walls... Well it wasn't all that bad. I've put off the work out for about 10 days so I could recover a little.
That's another thing I'll probably do today, return to the gym. I need get Juli's bike down to get repaired as well, something I promised to do last April.
So that's my day. Perhaps some writing tonight. That would be a nice capper.
