Yesterday, at the end of the day, I was given an executive order... Take Monday off. ...even thought I'm taking next Friday off. So next week is a three day work week. Yeah, I can do that.

I think most of my problem has been work. I haven't had a break since a year ago last September. Norwescon doesn't count. A con is a rather frenetic experience that doesn't lead to recuperation, not really.

So even though I'm not getting a full week off, I and getting some ...geared down time. And since Juli has two weeks off starting today we can spend some time together. Next weekend we're going to Cannon Beach for a couple of days. We've splurged on the Hallmark Resort in a room that opens up right on the beach. That's gotta be great. And I found out from a fellow lighthouse chaser at Starbucks that Cape Mears Lighthouse has been restored, it's Fresnel lens was vandalized a while ago, and since Fresnel lenses haven't been made for about 80 years they had to do some research to restore this one.

It's been restored, so Juli and I are going to go have a look-see.

Yeah, I need a vacation. This should work.

ARe still used in every theatre (as in, a place where people put on stage plays) in the world that has lights. And there are dozens in each theatre. Believe me, there are many companies manufacturing them.

Maybe not the size that you need for a lighthouse, but it's not like there's a shortage of people that know how the lense works or how to make them.

2 nights required on weekends
3 on Holiday weekends unless they goof.

So when are you coming down? Valentine and I are current at Cannon Beach with my parents will definatly be here through Thursday and we may stay through Saturday. Send me email if you want my CB local number. (Only if you want to link up-- I would totaly understand if you and Juli just wanted some quiet time to yourselves.)

And, of course, you e-mail is still blocked. Dang-it!
I'm in the process of shutting down the isp for our business and moving it elsewhere. At which point the business will have it's own address and I can change mine. Once that's done we shouldn't have any more problems with blocked messages.
