dolphins_logFrances has declined to a Category 1 Hurricane with winds at 90 mph. She's just Big! She covers pretty much all of Florida and her eye is right in the middle. Hurricane Warnings will likely be dropped to Tropical Storm Warnings on the East Coast. A Hurricane Warning has been issued for a portion of the Northwest peninsula coast of Florida and a Hurricane Watch has been issued for the panhandle.

Meanwhile Ivan has powered up to a Major Category 3 hurricane in a matter of hours. Winds are sustained at 115 mph. Strengthening is forecast. He's about 250 miles in diameter. All the models show Ivan as eventually effecting the some Caribbean Islands. It's too soon to forecast if Ivan will make landfall in the US. He's still way out there.
