Fun In Bandon
Sep. 29th, 2009 08:09 pmJuli and I had a great time today. We made it down to Cape Blanco, and this time, 14 years later, we actually got to go onto the property and enter the tower. The sun cleared up just in time for us. It was raining to beat the band on the way down. Well... We got rained on a little later as we were taking pictures. Great weather shots!
There was a little lost kitty there that one of the hosts was going to adopt. Juli and I thought her name should be Docent.
He took a hike out to Blacklock Point back in 1995. Well we did it again today. While the trail is just as clearly unmarked as it was before it's in a lot better shape. And while there was no field of blooming irises at the end the view was still just as incredible. It reminded me of those photos of the Irish coast that you see all the time. It just needed a castle ruin somewhere.
No worries about this next bit. We're under a Tsunami advisory now. Just a small one of about 6 to 12 inches. Officials are driving about the waterfront handing out flyers asking people to stay off the beach. Juli and I have dinner in, so about 9:15 we may step out to watch.
That's news from here.
Keith and Juli
P.S. (Juli here) We also took some new shots of Coquille. Still the prettiest little lighthouse on the Pacific coast. Tomorrow we plan to revisit Umqua and Arago. Now that we have the digital cameras the fact that Arago is closed to the public should not be a hinderance to getting a good picture.
