ROAD TRIP

On the road again!

The sun is setting.   .....up into the cloud cover.    But "The Mountain" is out.

The cats are looking forward to a day with both of us home.   Sorry to disappoint.  They have clean litter, water and food.  ...and each other.

We're HERE!!!

After spending 3 hours at Powell's World of Books we drove out the Sunset Highway, up through the snow, and down to Cannon Beach.   Our room is fine.  It could be better.  We're on the first floor next to the beach access, and the bed is a pull down without reading lights.  It's got a couch though.  And a gas fireplace and the sound of ocean surf.   ...and isn't that why we're here.

While we can receive email, we can't send it.  So here's as good a place as any to communicate.

Softly Falls the Light of Day

There are a number of beach fires burning away tonight, dispite the cold.   There always seems to be beach fires here no mater what day of the week.  I noticed that at Newport [OR] as well, back in 1996 anyway.  There is something about a beach fire that smells so much better than a regular camp fire.  Perhaps it's the salt in the wood.    

Can you tell I'm getting all relaxed?
