Whale Watch 2008
Apr. 6th, 2008 08:04 pmThanks to
miko2 for setting it up.
Today many of us set sail out of Westport aboard the sturdy Blue Eyes for a 2 hour tour. While we saw a whale or two, the day turned out to be a fun jaunt out to sea.
Here
typographer enjoys the coaster ride as Blue Eye beats out to sea over the incoming 6 to 10 foot rollers.

Here a seal has a dash with a cormorant.
No pictures of whales, but we saw them, and I suppose that was the point.
On the way home I chose to drive through Olympia rather than Shelton, just to see if Mapquest was correct, that it was faster. Weeeeellll. ... Going through Shelton to Westport was 107 miles and 2 hours 15 minutes.
Going through Olympia from Westport was 16 miles longer and took 3 hours 15 minutes.
I supose the hour long traffic jamb in Dupont didn't help matters, but then the route through Shelton doesn't have those type of jambs.
