I wasn't impacted much at all by the [voice ="echo"] "STORM of 2007!!!" [/voice].  Juli was.  They had around three leaks at their store.  Gorst [the interchange of highways 3 and 16] was closed due to flood water and high tide.  Juli had to delay getting to work for 4 hours.

That's always a pain when Gorst gets blocked as it's really the only route between south and north Kitsap.   There is another route around Green Mountain on Bear Creek- Dewatto road, but in this storm?!?  Fug-et-abou-dit!  It's another 90 minutes through hilly and creek filled terrain.  And since the area in question had the biggest amount of rain in the Puget Sound region [almost 13 inches in 48 hours] those creeks would definitely be rushing.  [I've since learned that the route is blocked in a number of places by slides].

Port Orchard has a sink-hole in the round-about.  I haven't seen it yet.  I will tonight as Juli wants A & W burgers for dinner.  Highway 166, the waterfront access from Old Town Port Orchard to Highway 16 is closed due to slides, but that's nothing new.  That stretch of road always slides, even after WSDOT spen $$$$ shoring up the hillside.

There are a number of exits off of highway 3 in Central Kitsap that are closed due to washouts.  I went up that way today to get both of our cars serviced [our mechanic is in Poulsbo].  I also needed to pick up Juli's flocked tree.  We get it from Valley Nursery.  Valley Nursery has Dogfish Creek running through it.  Monday it was a raging river with whitecaps.  They nearly lost their access bridge.  They were repairing it and had to reroute patrons in through their exit and out through their service entrance. The creek bed  has been scoured bare.

My impact?  I saw West bound trafic on 16 making large waves under Burnham drive as I was East bound.  They apparently closed one lane West bound while I was at work.  IT was re-opened by the tame I drove through.  I'd call that "zero" impact.  I suppose I can't walk in my back yard for a while if I don't want to track thick gooey clay/mud into the house.
