Today was a kick back day. Juli had the day off. We both just kicked back and read. Juli's been snuggling up to one of our stuffed toy tigers.
I've been reading "the truth" by Terry Pratchett. There's a brief bit in there that's told for humor. The streets of Ahnk Morpork hand walls built up beside them and were filled in, leaving the sidewalks at a lower level than the streets. Horse P-ss would fall on the heads of the pedestrians and they had to climb ladders to cross the streets.
But... That's Real Life Seattle, at least back in history. That's where underground Seattle came from.
So the author's blurb at the beginning of the book, which I usually don't read, talks about the novel way Seattle dealt with the flood problem "and try the clam chowder while your there". HA!
