NorthWest Swirly Thing Alert: It's Heeeere

While it's not going to be as cold as they thought it would be, we're talking upper teens instead of lower teens, it's still going to be cold. The wind is starting to pick up here in Port Orchard. Bellingham... You guys are having lotsa fun. I always did like that about Bellingham during my college days.

Interestingly...a
surface pressure rise that earlier appeared to be sliding south
along the Front Range of the Rockies has turned west and is now
moving westward into eastern Washington. Has been interesting to see the almost
negligible effect of terrain on the wind fields along the Cascade
east slopes with Wenatchee blowing strongly Cross-Valley. This is
just one sign of the strong push of air coming from east of the
Cascades tonight...mountains be darned. We are not just talking
about a trickle of air through the passes here.
