Birthday Dinner and Movie
Jun. 4th, 2005 11:07 pmI met Juli and her mother in Edmonds this afternoon so that we could take Laurann to the movies and then dinner. It was her birthday last weekend and we couldn't celebrate as Juli had to work.
Laurann chose "Monster-In-Law", which we saw at Montlake 9. It was interesting watching Jane Fonda play Insane Vicious B*tch, though her change of heart resolution was just a shade too quick for me.
We went to "Scott's Bar and Grill" for a wonderful meal. Juli had prime rib of course. she says "It's meat"! I had crab stuffed halibut with an almond crust. ...of course. Laurann had Copper River Salmon. $$Cha-ching$$$ Very pricey this year, but it's a tradition for her as Copper River season is at the same time as her birthday.
Laurann has a new cat. She's about 8 months old, grey with whit paws, and the most affectionate previously stray, cat you could ever meet. Pick her up and she will stare at you and purr mightily. She could care less about busy balls. Bump her with one and she won't even blink. But present her with a twist tie or a bit of string and watch the wild rumpus begin. Her name is Lucy. She spent the evening going from lap to lap. She's a fine one, she is.
That's new's for today. Other then getting our tax assessment for our property [up 15%...Yikes!].
