Yes, Bullsh-t!! And it's a good thing too! I've just spent all afternoon spreading it all over our yard.
My morning was spent paying bills and running errands, including getting my hair cut.
Then I took a jaunt down to Home Depot in Gig Harbor where a gathered a sh*tload of B*llsh*t and some grass seed.
Okay, I'll be polite now. I have overseeded our patch of sod out front. When they laid the sod down they put it right on top of glacial till. There isn't any organic material in glacial till, at least not much to speak of. It's great for growing scotchbroom, but to help a lawn thrive? Fugget aboudit.
What overseeding entails is mowing the grass short short. Then you need to rake in some steer manure throughout the entire patch of lawn. That took time. You don't want to smother what grass is there, but rake the manure down through the blades.
Then you seed the lawn. I bought a cheep rolling spreader. The handheld one I have would not have had the control I needed. I had to assemble the rolling spreader first. The directions didn't call for a hammer, but that's okay. I used one anyway.
After the seed is spread you need to soak the lawn, even if it's raining. So that's my day. No BS about it. ...well... It stinks though.
