It's the KEY to Everything!
Jan. 19th, 2004 11:32 pmI had to get a new spare key made for my car. My main key was so worn that it refused to work. I first stopped at the chain hardware store here in Port Orchard. The woman helping me looked up what was needed in the book, found the key, examined it and determined that the book was wrong. She then called over half the staff of the store, who also determined that they couldn't help. They told me that only Subaru could make my key for me.
Today I went to the local home town hardware store in Poulsbo. I set the key on the counter. The cashier picked it up, looked at it and said, "That will take a DS 28. Let me get the key guy for you."
I had assumed that she was the one in charge of keys.
"No, no, I'm not good enough." She tossed my key to another guy. He looked at it. "DS 28," he said.
In seconds I had the key I needed. Small town hardware makes good.
