We had a great time last night. [livejournal.com profile] genebreshears and [livejournal.com profile] miertam have season tickets to Seattle on Broadway at the Paramount and they have, on occasion, managed to get extra tickets. So last night [livejournal.com profile] kehf and her husband, Juli and I joined Gene and Mike and saw "Some Like it Hot", the Broadway musical version of the movie. I think the tap dancing thugs stole the show. The mob boss, Spats, got almost as strong of an applause as Tony Curtis did. His death scene rivaled that of [okay opera buffs bear with me] that opera character that sings so long when she has a sword through her chest. He took soooo long to tap out his last tic. It was great.

The evening began with a wonderful dinner at the CheeseCake Factory. We had to meet everyone there because of the Vashon/Southworth/Fauntleroy boats broke down.
"Yeah, the big one."
No big though. Without having to go to Ballard, we managed to save just enough time to have our Shrimp and Bacon Clubs. MM mmm MMM MMM MMmm! Juli and I had to gut the second half of our sandwiches and eat the good stuff inside. There was just too much food.

We went to the show after dinner and ... Well, Gene, you were wondering if we had a great time. We tried to get your attention before the lights went down for the second half. The four of us were ... what would you call it? We were doing a sitting soft shoe to the music. Okay, we were cane dancing in unison with our rolled up programs. Yeah, I think we were having a good time.

After the show were returned again to the CheeseCake factory for some sort of desert, I think it had cheesecake in it. We met [livejournal.com profile] julesong and her choir crowd there. Julie is certainly looking good since her surgery, and she appears to be regaining her energy plus some. Woo hoo!

After desert we said our goodbyes. The parking attendant said we made the cut off between $10 and $20 by about 30 seconds. He offered to chat about what kind of car I was driving if I wanted. Hee. Juli and I drove home through Tacoma. It was faster then taking the boat. We let the radio play some soft stuff and we chatted. ...and we got home at 1:00 AM. Fortunately I had prearranged sleeping in a few hours.

All in all, I'd say the evening was a winner.
