Sad International News
Feb. 1st, 2003 01:53 pmI started off to the gym this morning. My radio was cheerfully blatting away the oldies. One of our neighborer's has a flag pole, and I was curious as to why his flag was at half mast. I thought maybe I should turn on the news.
At first I wondered if they were rebroadcasting a report from the Challenger incident. It took a while, but when they mentioned the loss of STS 107 I knew it couldn't be Challenger. Challengers flight was STS 25. As I pulled towards the street where the gym is located I still didn't know which one we had lost. Actually I still wanted to believe it was a rebroadcast. Denial I guess. Then the news became clear about Columbia and the reentry.
I didn't bother going to the gym. I came home and told Juli.
Maybe Juli and I need to take a side trip this September while we're in Florida. I'd like to take another trip to Kennedy Space Center.
