Steel Grey Serenity
Sep. 1st, 2002 05:47 pmI'd say Autumn has begun. I wrote a bit ago how I was sad to see the Summer end, but now I feel it's time. The sky has been overcast all day, and it feels good. I'm ready for the creative punch of the fall.
I have a few rusty skills to clean up. Like a ball player before a game, I'll need to stretch a little. One of the goals I've set for myself is to write ...something... ...anything... everyday. It won't matter how short it is as long as something gets recorded. Maybe I should get back to the daily mandatory three pages of hand written free flow that is part of the book "The Artists Way". That seemed to help quite a bit. I'd have to adjust my morning and take back my early arrival to work.
Voice of Problem Solving: You Will Find Another Way!
Painting and sketching are a different problem altogether. Those are skills that have never been developed properly, or even focused on. I still dream. My muse still talks to me, especially in September.
I like August, but for creative endeavors it seems to be a pain in the butt.
Perhaps I should make these September Resolutions:
1.) I will hand write three pages a day.
2.) I will sketch or paint at least twice a week.
3.) I will play music whenever I'm at the computer, thereby occupying the CD Rom [resulting in not being able to play "Age of Empires", a game I play even though I'm totally bored with it].
[note: always form a resolution in the positive, i.e. 'I will play music'.]
4.) I will continue with my workout regimen.
5.) I will watch my weight and maintain my 35 pound loss and strive to lose the last 10 pounds.
6.) I will continue to always get a card for Juli on the 26th of the month.
That's a good start. Suggestions are welcome.
