"Stay on Target!"

Yesterday, at the end of the day, I was given an executive order... Take Monday off. ...even thought I'm taking next Friday off. So next week is a three day work week. Yeah, I can do that.

I think most of my problem has been work. I haven't had a break since a year ago last September. Norwescon doesn't count. A con is a rather frenetic experience that doesn't lead to recuperation, not really.

So even though I'm not getting a full week off, I and getting some ...geared down time. And since Juli has two weeks off starting today we can spend some time together. Next weekend we're going to Cannon Beach for a couple of days. We've splurged on the Hallmark Resort in a room that opens up right on the beach. That's gotta be great. And I found out from a fellow lighthouse chaser at Starbucks that Cape Mears Lighthouse has been restored, it's Fresnel lens was vandalized a while ago, and since Fresnel lenses haven't been made for about 80 years they had to do some research to restore this one.

It's been restored, so Juli and I are going to go have a look-see.

Yeah, I need a vacation. This should work.
